As everyone is gearing up for the great festival of Diwali. The sale season is on peak from various sellers and online stores. where there is too much to choose from. One such big sale was executed by flip kart on 6th October, with the Title.....THE BIG BILLION DAY SALE. There have been a number of deals running on the ecommerce portal since morning 8am across various categories with discounts as high as up to 80%. However, the sale has already come to an end within 7 hours.
IN BIG BILLION SALE where a few customer get benefitted because some products were offered at heavy discounts and that were really discounts. But......yeah it’s a but situation.....as many of the online shoppers call it now a fakekart. The reason is......fake discounts. The products whose price was 1000 Rs. On 5th oct., got sudden increase in price up to 4000 and then a discount of 75%....flip kart played a nice game. And similar thing is going in almost all stores.Firslty raise the price and then offer the discounts to attract customers. Flip kart must not forget that we know everything – we are Indian consumers, the largest consumer base in the world. And mind you, we are not naive, we are much more aware.
The blockbuster Diwali sale on Flip kart that gave it $100 million in sales in only 10 hours has clearly backfired on the poster boy of Indian e-commerce. Throughout the sale, social media was anyway a buzz with complaints against the site crashing and giving errors, orders were disappearing from shopper carts and deals going out of stock as soon as they went live. Online shoppers have been continuously checking Flip kart every hour for new deals and we are not sure hot Flip kart plans to inform its users about the sale end. There must have been thousands of unique similar points where you lost loads and loads of admirers/customers/loyalists.
Flip karts fake discounts, crashing of the sites again and again may be looking as a big hit. But it’s not so. It has lost trust of millions of its customers and admirers. Flip kart might have earned a ‘billion rupees’ yesterday, but have lost a-million-faiths at least. Not a good bargain, guys.
Flip kart is now facing scrutiny of the government, based on complaints from traders over undercutting prices and adversely affecting competition. A probe by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) is not ruled out. Now the central govt.would looks into the complaints made by traders against flip kart which logged record sale by offering heavy discount in its event.
