Complying with the Supreme Court’s order, the government on Wednesday placed before the court the complete list of 627 Indians who have accounts in HSBC Bank, Geneva. Stating that almost half these names are under tax probe for allegedly stashing black money abroad, the government said charges have to be filed by March next year.As  the most of money in swiss bank is from India,Now the govt.wants to bring it back to India ASAP. As directed by the court on Tuesday, the documents containing names of the account holders, correspondence with French authorities and the status report of the probe conducted so far in the black money case were submitted in separate sealed covers by Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi. The court said it would not make the names public at this juncture. Appearing before a bench headed by Chief Justice H L Dattu, Rohatgi said almost half the account holders were resident Indians, who could be prosecuted under the Income Tax laws, while the others were NRIs.

India today failed to attend an OECD meeting in Berlin where a multilateral agreement requiring a commitment to follow international standards of confidentiality for information received relating to black money was signed. At the meeting of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), 51 countries signed the agreement to share financial data and boost efforts to crack down on tax evasion. The signatories to the agreement include most European Union nations as well as tax havens like Liechenstein, British Virgin Island and the Cayman Island. They will begin automatically exchanging data collected by financial institutions as early as 2017, the OECD said. The government in the affidavit said it has no intention to hold back any information or the names it has received from the foreign governments of Indian citizens holding undisclosed accounts in foreign banks. Today the Centre govt.revealed the name of three person who are having lots of black money in their swiss accounts. Calling it a "historic day in the black money case”, The Modi government, which promised to bring back black money stashed by Indians in foreign banks, toed the line of UPA regime by informing the Supreme Court on October 17 that it cannot disclose such details given by countries with which India has double taxation avoidance agreement (DTAA). The Jaitley said in his Facebook post, "stands committed to detect the names, prosecuting the guilty and making them public.
