What exactly an IAS, IPS AND IFS do ????????????????

The F, A and P stand for Foreign (and Forest too), Administrative, and Police, respectively. I stands for Indian, while S for Service. So IFS, IAS and IPS are civil servant ranks under the Central Government of India. The exams to all three are conducted by UPSC, and it's a common exam. Normally, IFS, IAS and IPS are considered in that hierarchy, as high rankers often opt for IFS, while bottomcrankers often have to settle with IPS. (Disclaimer: Some high rankers have opted for IAS or IPS) IFS officers join the foreign service of India. They form the senior management officers of India's foreign service and manage foreign relations of India. The work as Ambassador, or High Commissioners, Foreign Secy, or work in the PMO or Ministry of External Affairs. IAS officers join the Indian Administrative Service and work as key persons of central and state government bodies and PSUs. They may also be sent on foreign assignments along with IFS.
