Arun Jaitley chosen as “Finance Minsiter of the Year ,Asia' ...............

  Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has been chosen as 'Finance Minister of the Year, Asia' by London-based publication Emerging Markets.In an article the magazine said that Mr Jaitley too deserves 'some recognition' for India's relative economic success over the last 18 months.

"...most of the plaudits for India's relative economic success have gone to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and the governor of the Reserve Bank of India, Raghuram Rajan, who was recognised with Emerging Markets' Central Bank Governor of the Year award for Asia last year.
"But Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also deserves some recognition, for without his decisions and his stewardship of India's financial direction, India would not have achieved what it has," said the magazine.
Emerging Markets had chosen Pranab Mukherjee as 'Finance Minister of the Year, Asia' in 2010.

The article said the government must continue the privatisation programme, which is under strain, and "must convince the investment community that the sale agenda is intact and that the money can be raised.
"But what Mr Jaitley has done is to show that he, and India, can deal with challenges. The IMF is still projecting 7.5 per cent GDP growth this year. There are clearly difficult times ahead but India no longer looks as vulnerable to them as it once did."

Emerging Markets is part of Euromoney Institutional Investor plc, one of the largest providers of financial information worldwide.The magazine in an article said that without his decisions and stewardship of India’s financial direction, India would not have achieved what it has.
Apart from this, Atiur Rahman, the Governor of Bangladesh Bank was named as the Central Bank Governor of the Year, Asia 2015.
He was awarded for generating considerable strength and resilience in the economy of Bangladesh..

 Most of the students are having difficulties in solving the Calendar problems. The number of days more than the complete number of weeks in a given period, are called odd days. For example : (1) In an ordinary year (of 365 days) there are 52 weeks and one odd day. (2) In a leap year (of 366 days) there are 52 weeks and two odd days. What is the Leap and Ordinary year ? Every year which is exactly divisible by 4 such as 1988, 1992, 1996 et. is called a leap year. Also every 4th century is a leap year. The other centuries, although divisible by 4, are not leap years. Thus, for a century to be a leap year, it should be exactly divisible by 400. For example : (1) 400, 800, 1200, etc are leap years since they are exactly divisible by 400.
